About the Opportunity
DCG is looking for a Quality Control Supervisor based in Golden, BC for a 5-month Contract, with the potential for extension. We are looking for a passionate and detail orientated candidate.
We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Supervisor to implement and manage our QC program for concrete and structural steel products as well as its coating. You will perform inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with CSA standards, supporting both in-plant and on-site operations. Your expertise will help maintain high-quality production while promoting safety and efficiency. .
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement daily quality checks for concrete production, ensuring all procedures align with company and CSA standards.
- Monitor concrete consistency, air content, and slump during mixing and delivery.
- Perform routine inspections at project sites to verify proper concrete placement and curing practices.
- Record test results, inspection findings, and quality reports in an organized, accessible manner.
- Identify potential quality issues or deviations and suggest corrective solutions promptly.
- Support technical investigations when product quality concerns arise.
- Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and mix designs to anticipate quality challenges.
- Provide guidance to plant and site personnel on proper concrete handling and testing techniques.
- Track and analyze trends in product quality to recommend process improvements.
- Promote safety and environmental best practices during all QC activities.
- Participate in continuous learning and development to stay current with industry standards and testing methods.
About You
To qualify, you will need the following skills and background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. (preferred, not mandatory)
- At least 5 years of experience in quality control or construction; concrete industry experience is a plus, must have experience in bridge construction, structural steel and preferably coating/paint.
- Knowledge of concrete materials, production, and testing processes.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with production teams.
- A good understanding of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be familiar with the MoTT specifications.
